Should I take this program?
Any dancer with less than one year of total Brazilian Zouk experience that wishes to take a progressive beginner workshop series and has not attended another event, competed, or assisted in teaching is welcome to take this program. We recommend it for people who are still learning their fundamentals, as this program starts from the basics. Morning Newcomer workshops on Saturday and Sunday are mandatory for Newcomer Pass holders.
If you have more than one year of experience or intend to come to parties only, please sign up for our Weekend Pass to ensure we keep spaces in this program for our in-class Newcomers.
If you want to take other, non-Newcomer level classes or compete in a Novice or Intermediate Jack and Jill, you should purchase a regular Weekend Pass instead of a Newcomer Pass.
If you feel you have forgotten Brazilian Zouk, contact us directly to discuss.
Experienced dancers: please do not use this program as a party pass. Doing so will result in a ban from our event.
Anything Else I Should Know?
If this is your first time coming to a Brazilian Zouk (or any) dance event, here’s some extra things to think about:
- You don’t need a partner and you can choose whether you’d like to lead or follow.
- Brazilian Zouk dancers use a variety of footwear. Anything from ballet flats, jazz shoes, dance boots or sneakers, or even heels work.
- Wear comfortable clothing to move around in workshops, and bring extra shirts if you sweat.
- Remember to check for any party themes, if you like to dress for the theme.
- A water bottle, breath mints, and camera are great things to bring to dance workshops.
- Coming alone? No worries! Closer to the event, we’ll connect you to other Newcomers through a WhatsApp group where you can ask questions and reach out to others.
